Moisturizing is essential for healthy, glowing skin but it must be done correctly to have its full effect on your body.
1. Only moisturize parts of your body that require moisturizing, not your whole body. Different people need moisturizing in different areas. Identify the parts of your body that need moisturizing and give them your attention. The skin over parts of your body that need moisturizing will feel uncomfortable, dry, tight, and cracked or peeling. I only moisturize my hands and my feet - the other parts of my body don't need moisturizing.
2. For the parts of your body that do need moisturizing, moisturize them each time after they are wet. Since my hands need moisturizing, this means that it is very rare that I will wash my hands or get them wet and not moisturize afterwards. After your body has been exposed to water, it is essential that you lock in that water to keep your skin hydrated and healthy. If you don't lock in that water, that water itself will evaporate from your skin and leave it drier than it was before.
Moisturize only the parts of your body that need it and always moisturize after you have been exposed to water.
