Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

Confucius first said this thousands of years ago. When I first heard that quote, I knew it was true but felt that it was something that would never happen to me. But then it did happen to me, in my late twenties, after I switched careers.

I don't work any longer, I pursue my hobby, my passion, one of the biggest loves of my life. I could not think of waking up and doing anything else each day. I feel lucky and blessed to have my life filled with my hobby that to everyone else I call work.

Ask yourself what you love to do, make that hobby your job and never work a day for the rest of your life.

When your children are seeking out a career or a young person asks you about what they should be in life, don't just come up with answers like: "How about a doctor, lawyer, or accountant." Consider what that child loves to do and tell them that they should turn that love into their job.
